California Anyone?

My husband and I are going to California this fall, and I thought I'd ask if anyone has any suggestions on what not to miss. I've never been to CA, so it will all be new and exciting to me. We're flying in to San Francisco and staying in that area mostly, but then driving down the coast for a brief visit with friends in Santa Barbara/LA.

Do you know of any art galleries, fun activities, hikes, or tasty places to eat?

Cheers!
Meagan

If you can make it a little north of San Fransicso, try to see Muir Woods, it's a beautiful drive up there and the forest is amazing. Fisherman's Wharf is touristy but fun- get some sourdough bread and Ghiardelli chocolates there. I used to travel to SF/San Diego every January and July for work, I'll try to remember some places I liked. Still taking my meds and a bit foggy......

Thank you! We're actually staying in Point Reyes Station so, Muir Woods would be an good day trip for us. And I checked out Rae Dunn's work - great, your right! Thanks for the suggestions!
