Thank you Summer

No, not the season. (Though many of you in the cold, snowy North may be desperately looking forward to warmer weather.)

I'm talking about my Summer Best View video monitor. (Don't worry, I'm not going to turn all mommy-blog on you either.) Thanks to you and two 30-minute naps today I was able to finish up some work and get the kiln loaded.

You read that right! My kiln is firing. When I went to write the details down in my kiln log, I could hardly believe the last time I fired was October - just 8 days before Cooper was born!

That monitor truly is amazing! Firing the kiln again feels like such a huge accomplishment. And I must say, I am proud of myself!

Cheers!

I'm so glad to hear that you love your video monitor! I'm due in 2 months and was planning on getting a video monitor so I can get some work time during napping time. My studio is in the basement and the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. I have picked out the same monitor- it had the best range of any of the video monitors out there so it should work with the distance.

Don't shy away from sharing personal news- especially when it comes to balancing your clay work with being a mom. We need that information out there! Congratulations!

some of us are baby crazy share away.
What a great gadget this is- I use to have to run up and down the stairs to check my little ones- about a million years ago now.

Congrats Emily! How exciting for you! Yes, that monitor is definitely one of my "mommy must-haves". It's pricey, but I'd forgo a lot of the other baby crap to get a good monitor. We picked it for the range too and haven't regretted it. I hope to hear about your adventures as a new studio mom as well. Cheers to you and Ian!

Ok, I'll be sure to share stories from all ares of life. Thanks for your support!

I used to love that monitor. Just a warning at about 10 months the battery starts to die and the range gets shorter and shorter... by 15 months you might as well toss it. :( Not quite sure why... or maybe mine is just defective.

Video monitors are amazing! Glad things are going well.

Video monitors are awesome, we had the old school audio one, lasted forever; still works though we no longer use it as my daughter is almost 10. There is a definite sense of freedom that comes from being able to continue your work AND still be a good mom.
